I retired May of 2018. I spent the previous +40 years living the American dream. I went to college, had a good career, married a few times (darn) and sent two great kids through college. When I retired I said, "Now what?" So, back to my roots.
After high school I would go backpacking in the Appalachian mountains in Virginia with my best friends. Its was more of a camping trip then making miles but we thought of ourselves as real mountain men with our limited skills and knowledge.
Once married my wife and I would backpack making miles each weekend we could get away. The Appalachian trail was our home on those weekends. I was still learning about how to enjoy this worldly resource.
So, here I am. Willingness and desire to explore and learn.
